How to Use Amla Paste on Your Hair
Amla paste is applied to your hair in the same way as henna is applied. You can apply amla paste to your hair on its own, or you can mix amla powder with other conditioning herbs and / or oils. If you have dry hair, you can add some vegetable oil to the paste. One of the best ways to use amla powder for hair is to add amla paste to your henna and indigo mix to help tone down the red of the henna, for a cooler, more ash-brown colour. Mixing the amla with only henna will not noticeably tone down the red of the henna - this only works with indigo.

Amla paste makes a very good exfoliating, toning facial scrub or facial mask. Amla powder has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, and astringent properties. The high levels of vitamin C in the amla powder help to break up the dead skin cells, leaving your skin feeling smooth, toned and healthy.
How To Mix Amla Paste
When in powdered form, mix with hot water to make a paste of the same consistency as yoghurt. Let it sit for 30 minutes before using.

Amla (Emblica Officinalis) is also known as "Amalaki" or "Indian Gooseberry". It is the powdered dried fruit of the Emblica Officinalis tree.
The amla fruit / amla berry are widely used in Ayurveda. According to Ayurveda, amla balances all three doshas. It is used in Ayurveda as a treatment (ayurvedic medicine), and as prevention against disease - amla extract may reduce several risk factors for heart disease including weight loss, and also as a rasayana (promoting rejuvenation and longevity).
