Dry Hair? The 3 Hair Products You Need

Google “dry hair” and you’ll get a slew of results promising miracle restoration for splitting, dryness and damage - if only you’ll buy hundreds of products and follow a 20 step routine.

Caring for your dry hair doesn’t need to be so difficult (or so expensive!) Making sure you choose the right products for you, and committing to a routine that provides TLC for your tresses will help you get that bounce and softness back.

Here’s our 3 Step guide to the 3 products you need to transform your tresses.

Step 1 - It’s Pure Macadamia and Argan Oil

A pre-wash oil is key to this; it provides necessary hydration not just for your hair, but your scalp, too.

It’s Pure’s Macadamia and Argan Hair Oil was made for this; a blend of two richly hydrating oils for hair. Argan Oil is renowned for its conditioning properties for hair, relieving scalp dryness and itchy dandruff.

Hair Oiling Is Simple Self Care

Adding this step is so simple:

Massage it through your hair, from the scalp all the way through the mid-lengths and ends.

Wrap it in a warm (not hot!) towel to keep it damp and aid with absorption.

Leave for up to 40 minutes, then it’s time to wash out.

Giving your scalp a boost before you wash is never a bad thing. Try doing a DIY Indian Head Massage before you wash; this helps stimulate circulation, promoting healthy growth and volume for flat, lifeless hair. Not to mention it aids with serious stress relief!

You’ll want to do this every couple of weeks before a wash - it doesn’t need to be done every day. You can do it weekly if you’d like; it won’t harm your hair to do so.

Step 2 - Odylique Lavender Shampoo

Choosing the right shampoo for you is vital, and with so many shampoos touting different benefits, finding one for your hair type is a bit of a minefield.

For dry hair, make sure you select a shampoo with the right blend of oils - we’d recommend Odylique’s Lavender Shampoo.

Odylique Lavender Shampoo

Lavender essential oil is moisturising for hair; it helps lock in hydration while you wash, reducing splitting and frizz. It is also reputed for its hydrating properties for the skin; reducing dandruff and nourishing dry scalps.

Not to mention, Odylique’s shampoos are all made with horsetail and coconut oil; a blend to condition and strengthen brittle, splitting hair.

Step 3 -Odylique Lavender Conditioner

If you have dry hair, you need to make sure you’re using a genuinely moisturising conditioner. So many conditioners promise sleek, shiny, soft locks but actually weigh down your hair strands with silicones that make it look shiny, but actually don’t help hydrate your hair at all.

The Lavender Conditioner is enriched with organic glycerin, shea butter, coconut oil and aloe vera. These ingredients help with moisturising the hair without weighing it down, taming frizz and being gentle enough to use even on dry, sensitive scalps.

For wavy or curly haired girls, when you use your conditioner comb it through while your hair is wet, either with fingers or a wide toothed comb - this will help make sure every strand is covered.

My top tip for sealing in hydration? Leave your conditioner on for a good few minutes, and when you rinse, use cold water to wash out your conditioner. Hot water can dry out hair, especially if it is naturally porous, undoing all the good work your conditioner did!
